Interview service

Women who have experienced or are experiencing violence in an intimate relationship and their families can book an interview with a counselor at the Women's Shelter. The interviews are free and are intended to provide general advice, support and information.

The women's shelter's hotline is open 24 hours a day. Sufferers, relatives and professionals can contact us for help, support or advice.
Please note that in cases of emergency you should always contact 112.

Staying in a shelter

The shelters are located in Reykjavík and Akureyri, but are open to all women who need to flee their homes due to violence, regardless of residence or legal domicile. Contact us at 561 12 05 if you are considering staying in a women's shelter.
